The Breastfeeding Resource Center (BRC) was established in 2003 by two International Board Certified Lactation Consultants. They envisioned a place where mothers could go if they were having difficulty with breastfeeding, planning to return to work while continuing their breastfeeding relationship, needing assistance in choosing the right products, or just needing some support and reassurance. They also imagined it being a valuable resource for healthcare professionals serving breastfeeding families. It was strongly felt that this center should be accessible to all families, regardless of economic means.
The vision became a reality and the BRC has provided their services with professionalism and passion. The BRC provides a variety of face to face services, support group meetings, and parent classes. The Board of Directors and staff continually work together to be sure the BRC is meeting the needs of the community.
Let us help you to help breastfeeding families! The BRC continues to offer this FREE Breastfeeding Update Series to anyone working with breastfeeding mothers. Coming in September: "Sore Nipples". To learn more about this event, and others throughout the year, click here.
Glaxo Smith Kline awards 10 nonprofit organizations each year with an award of $40,000 for increasing access to healthcare in their community. The BRC was thrilled to be nominated and even more excited when they heard they won! Pictured here are some of the BRC Board of Directors, Staff, and representatives of GSK.
